Position Overview We are looking for a motivated and organized individual to work in the Big Muddy River Correctional Center Business Office as an Account Technician I – Trust Fund.
This individual, under general supervision of the Business Administrator, is responsible for maintaining a complex set of books for the Individual in Custody Trust Fund System.
This individual should be highly motivated and ready to assist with all aspects of the Big Muddy River Correctional Center Business Office.

Job Responsibilities Maintains accurate Individual in Custody Trust Fund accounts by inputting monies received on money receipt list and disbursed on my money vouchers.
Verifies accuracy of individual in custody payroll sheets and payroll printout before posting to individual trust fund accounts.
Processes Trust Fund balance, gate money, and transportation receipts for discharge and paroled individuals in custody at this institution upon notification of release.
Reconciles individual in custody accounts and general ledger accounts at the end of the month.
Serves as backup to Office Coordinator cashier duties by preparing daily bank deposits for the locally held funds and cash receipts/refunds.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance) Prefers at least two (2) years of experience with state or non-state accounting procedures.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in general ledger accounting practices.
Prefers at least one (1) year of experience with office methods and procedures.
Prefers at least one (1) year of experience creating and maintaining reports.
Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in Microsoft Excel or similar application.
Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen.
The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
