Position Summary: The Chiropractic assistant is hard-working individual who works with the provider and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties.
This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure a smooth patient flow within the practice.
Duties and Responsibilities: Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating and preparing room between patients for the provider.
Verifies patient information by reviewing patient information with the , recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit, or any other documentation required.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
Prepares patients for examination.
Labs, imaging, and chart review to be done that day before with report to the provider.
Review of Schedule for accuracy, missing of needed documentation that may cause delay or rescheduling of appointment.
Rooming patients and adhering to a seamless transition for the patient and provider.
Checking messages and any voicemails in the morning left for the provider and communication of any concerns to the provider.
Referrals and prior authorizations.
Looking at the providers schedule to notify schedulers of gaps or opportunities in scheduling.
Secure patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
Counsel’s patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions abut surgery.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establish and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations and adhering to patient privacy laws.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders with approval, and verifying receipt.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state and local requirements.
Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Meets or exceeds organizational goals set forth.
Other duties assigned by Manager.
Education & Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent 1 Year Medical and or Chiropractic Assistant EMR Experience- Athena a plus Hours of Availability: Monday-Friday with ability to work shifts during the hours of 7:30 a.
