Job Responsibilities 1.
Serves as full-line supervisor: Assigns and reviews work Provides guidance and training to assigned staff Counsels staff regarding work performance Reassigns staff to meet day-to-day operating needs Establishes annual goals and objectives Approves time off Adjusts first level grievances Effectively recommends and imposes discipline up to and including discharge Prepares and signs performance evaluations Determines and recommends staffing needs 2.
Supervises and participates in maintenance of buildings, flight pens, equipment, and vehicles: Reviews to ensure vehicles have current safety inspections.
Operates trucks, tractors, mowers, and other equipment.
Ensures brooder houses, feed lines, water lines, and ventilation systems are working within the buildings Build and repair flight pens (Job Responsibilities continued) 3.
Monitors and utilizes professional expertise in the evaluation of pheasant rearing methods: Implements new cultural practices.
Identifies disease/pest problems and initiates treatment.
Evaluates quality of game birds produced and effectiveness of feed rations and cultural practices.
Develops and implements brooder house management techniques and sanitation/disease programs.
Prepares detailed technical reports to assess the effectiveness of new or existing game farm disease control programs, implements and directs these programs at the farms.
Prepares administrative forms and record keeping essential to the operation of the farms such as mortality reports, grain reports, weight gain and physical measurements of birds.

Assists with pheasant hunting program and other special hunts: Supervises and participates in operation of the hunter check station.
Assigns hunters to hunting areas.
Assists with implementation of the dove hunting program.
Supervises planting and cultivation of wildlife food plots.
Traps and transports pheasants to sites where hunts are conducted.
5.
Provides input and gathers data for preparation of the annual and seasonal plans of work: Provides input for preparation of the site’s annual budget submittal.
6.
Coordinates and facilitates day use activities on the park, including but not limited to: Oversees buildings, picking up trash, and cleaning toilets within the park Supervises and schedules mowing, weed eating, and chemical application for aesthetics within the day use areas.
Maintaining proper signage at the park entrance, along trails, and within the park.
Maintain trails for hiking and hunting activities.
Applies herbicides and pesticides 7.
Assumes responsibilities of the Site Superintendent in the absence thereof.
8.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualfications 1.
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with courses in public administration, park and recreation administration, natural resource administration or a related field.
2.
One year’s functional supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications 1.
Two (2) years of working knowledge of the principles and practices of site administration, including pheasant propagation, animal handling, structural grounds maintenance, public relations, personnel administration, and outdoor recreation programs 2.
Two (2) years of experience in the brooding, specking, and inoculation of poultry 3.
Two (2) years of experience in applying appropriate levels of knowledge in problem solving situations encountered in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
4.
Two (2) years of experience in evaluating program effectiveness and to make recommendations on policies and procedures.
5.
Two (2) years working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and/or carpentry trades to make repairs on site.
