Logan College seeks a full-time trainer to organize and conduct occupational health and safety training for workers, unions, governmental entities, and community organizations.
The person in this role will be responsible for educating employees about their roles and responsibilities in keeping the workplace safe by providing training in OSHA requirements and other pertinent safety topics.
*Essential Functions & Position Duties:*
*Specific Job Duties:*
· Train workers on Occupational Safety and Health topics through workshops, conferences, and seminars in the John A Logan region.
· Prepare course content and complete and submit all paperwork associated with the training.
· Assist with seeking out businesses that might benefit from our training services.
· Maintain a relationship with businesses to ensure their training needs are being met.
· Travel to business sites to conduct training.
· Attend professional development seminars affiliated with local, state, and national organizations to maintain knowledge in the work area.
· Contribute to the success of the team through actions and ideas to facilitate the efforts of other team members.
· Obtain(within two months of hire date) and maintain OSHA 501 Outreach Instructor Certifications.
· Promote the College and the Workforce offerings.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Duties must be performed on the John A Logan campus or designated locations.
*Required Qualifications:*
*Education:* Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Development, Occupational Safety, or related field.
*Experience:* Three (3) years experience working with occupational safety issues or the equivalent.
*Preferred Qualifications: *
*Education:* Master’s Degree in Workforce Development, Occupational Safety, or related field.
*Experience preferred:* Five (5) years experience working with occupational safety issues.
Experience in teaching occupational health and safety topics.
OSHA 501 Outreach Instructor Certifications.
