Special Interest Instructor - Preschool Age Programs

\*INSTRUCTORS NEEDED FOR PRESCHOOL AGE DANCE AND MUSIC CLASSES\* The Carbondale Park District is searching for community “Virtuosos” who have unique skills and knowledge in a special interest or topic.
These Virtuosos will lead music and dance classes for littles, ages 3-5 years old.
Responsibilities: * Develop classes and/or workshops that advance the goals of the Carbondale Park District as an organization and that meets community needs * Demonstrate the ability to teach child and adult learners * Develop strong positive relationships with current class participants to encourage continued class attendance and strive to attract new participants.
* Demonstrate techniques and skills to successfully teach classes * Demonstrate attention to detail and organization skills * Basic class administration, including attendance forms, incident reports, equipment requests, and time management.
* Prepare teaching area with necessary equipment and return all teaching equipment to proper storage at the conclusion of each class.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.

, professional ability to attend to patrons needs) * Work as a part of a team of instructors and staff to support special interests in Carbondale and surrounding communities Qualifications: * Strong knowledge of a specialized topic * Ability to demonstrate skills and techniques within the chosen specialized topic * Ability to communicate with and instruct adults * Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed * Ability to plan and execute lessons/demonstrations Benefits: * Pay dependent on qualifications * Flexible work schedule – Hours vary by position and need of the facility, but there are a wide variety of day, evening, and weekend times available Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $14.
