Description
The School of Architecture in the College of Arts and Media at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Architecture.
The applicant will be an architectural educator who will make significant contributions to innovative teaching and creative research in the School of Architecture.
The successful applicant will begin the appointment on August 16, 2024.
Compensation for the position is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Examples of Duties
SIUC’s SOA seeks architectural educators whose practice is connected to a design research agenda, plus capacities to teach upper architectural design studios and/or required lecture courses and seminars as well as research methods and similar subjects.
Teaching, in studio and seminars, will focus on development of architectural projects along the whole design process at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research methods and programming will be indispensable to introduce students on the matter and to support the design process.
Candidates should exhibit a record of or a strong trajectory for developing and integrating research on architectural design, technologies, teaching, and the profession.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a terminal degree in Architecture, and provide evidence of, or the potential for, teaching effectiveness, scholarship, creativity, collaboration, communications skills, and collegiality.
Candidates must have professional experience and US state licensure, preferably with an NCARB certification.
