* Building and assembly of production racks working with new and recycled frames.
Along with responsibilities of repair, modifications and preventative maintenance.
* Maintains material inventory used in the development and repair of racks.
(Steel, plastic, foam, dunnage, etc.
) * Constructs and builds racks using prototype detailed drawings (cutting, welding, etc.
) * Complete engineering changes to rack fleets as required.
* Assists in the disposal of obsolete customer and Nascote owned racks (ship, tear down, etc.
) * Participates in team-oriented problem solving initiatives.
* Inventory and update essential rack information on all Nascote and customer owned racks.
* Organizes and maintains rack repair shop equipment and tools.
* Repair and maintenance of racks and containers.
* Operates shop equipment such as drill press, band saw, welder, hand tools, cutting tools, shearing machine and plasma torch.
* Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.
* Assists in trouble shooting of manufacturing problems related to racks, containers, and part protection foam.
* Work with all paint line materials used for production.
Performing assembly and repair work of t-stands, pods, bucks and buck racks.
* Maintains a clean and safe work area.
* Participates in department initiatives: ie) business plan development and execution, problem solving teams, QOS.
* Completes documentation of activities as required.
* Submits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.
* Travels as required.
* Performs other tasks as assigned.
*Skills/Experience Require* * Required - One year continuous work experience in a manufacturing environment with duties closely related to the essential functions.
* Must demonstrate ability to weld aluminum and steel utilizing wire feed welder.
* Preferred - Mechanical repair and organizational tasks.
* Forklift license required.
Must have general computer proficiency and good math skills.
* Must have good problem solving skills and ability to follow technical instructions requiring interpretation and judgment.
* Must have good organizational skills, such as planning and laying out a project.
* Must work well with others.
Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
* Must have the ability to read blueprints, understand and sketch 3D drawings.
* Must be able to pass a basic welding test and mechanical test.
* Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
* Must be proficient using tape measure.
*Educational Requirements* * Required - High School diploma or GED.
* Preferred - A.
S.
or Trade School technical degree in welding or mechanical repair.
