Network Engineer

*Network Engineer* We are searching for a Network Engineer in the Southern Illinois area to join our growing team of technology support professionals.
This position is ideal for an experienced candidate with two or more years of experience.
Relocation may be necessary for consideration.
*Job Overview* The successful candidate will support our customer’s Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), data communication equipment (switches, wireless controllers, routers, firewalls, VoIP controllers, NVRs, etc.
), and physical network infrastructure.
The successful candidate will also provide network and end user support both onsite and remotely.
This position requires someone who is highly motivated, a self-starter and a very good communicator.
Local travel to customer sites required (company vehicle provided).
*Job Responsibilities* * Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network related issues.
This includes maintaining network environments and system configurations, system installations, documentation, and system standards.
* Maintain network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network issues and outages, performing updates and preventative maintenance, and working closely with Network Administrators to optimize network performance.
* Installation of various network equipment in LAN customer environments.
* Provide secure network environments by following policies, standards and access rules.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications* * Associates degree or equivalent experience required.
* Certified Network Professional certification, or equivalent, is a plus.
* Candidates must have the product knowledge and technical skills to configure, install, and maintain network components.
* Solid working knowledge of network standards and being able to configure networks for performance, security, and reliable operation.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Customer service experience is a plus.
* Good communication skills.
* Background checks are required in order for consideration.
