The Mining Technician & Inspector is responsible for the inspection, testing, servicing, and/or the installation of fire safety equipment and systems, all in accordance with applicable fire codes and mining regulations.
Duties include:
Inspection of fire extinguisher(s) in accordance with NFPA 10 and kitchen extinguishing systems NFPA 17-17A and UL 300
Thorough understanding of NFPA, manufacturer and local fire codes for restaurant fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers
Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting
Identify NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate testing schedules.
Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports daily
Maintain a clean safe work environment
Maintain first aid cabinets
Perform quality work with minimal supervision
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have strong work ethics
Detail oriented problem solvers, professional attitude, reliable
Possess strong organizational, documentation, time management skills
Excellent customer service provided by communication skills both verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with employees and customers in a professional manner
Ability to speak and write English.
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Working knowledge of safety and hazardous material standards
Requirements:
Possess High school diploma or equivalent
Two or more years experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems is preferred but not required
We will train the right person
Must hold a West Virginia Underground Mining Certification
Must hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Ability to travel overnight
